Summer Break- C7

CHAPTER 7

There was this earnest feeling that I was gonna keep falling from the top of the cliff. I tried to close my eyes to stop thinking of Kate, as I can’t lose what I never had. Even when I closed my eyes I can still see her face. I never thought I had so much regrets. I never knew with her I had it all. I loved the way she loved me. I had not moved my first step. I realised how foolish I was. I was pretty sure she was the one. I went back to the chalet to get Jerry’s guitar and went out again to drive to the dock. I got up to the yacht and went up to the deck. I sat on the deckchair and began to play the guitar. I sung song from Trademark. I need her now and tomorrow was too late. In her I had found a million reasons I can’t wait anymore. I needed to start loving her forever. She had no idea how long I had waited for her. I was holding on so I could live on loving her. Why can’t she feel me reaching out with my heart as far as I could go? I wished I wouldn’t hurt you like I did to others. How I ever wished I could turn back time and kissed her on the yacht the night before. Strangely there was a seagull that took a rest on the railing of the yacht.

“Jacob, I knew I could find you here.” Kelvin spoke.

“I knew what had happened. She was only out for her freedom.” Kelvin consoled me.
Suddenly Kelvin’s word struck me. The word freedom was the key to my mystery.

“See ya, thanks Kelvin.” I thanked him.
I drove to the pub. I scanned through the whole pub hoping Kate was there. My hope was again banished. I just ordered drinks for myself. Lovers were all over the pub. In an instance, I heard the song, Dreaming of you by Selena. All these stuffs reminded me of her over and over again. When the song finished playing, I paid the disc jockey to play the song again. He told me there was a lady that already did that. I knew at once it was none other than Kate. I tried again to look for her in the pub carefully. I began to lose hope and decided to believe in destiny. I was the last to leave the pub and I was getting progressively drunk and boisterous for sure. My vision turned black and I forgot whatever had happened. When I woke up the time, I realised I was back in the chalet. My head was feeling heavy and the aches were there. I compelled myself to the bathroom to wash my face. I felt much more refreshed later. It was already morning. High sunlit clouds drifted across a clear blue sky. I wondered who took me back to the chalet yesterday night. I went searching for my friends and found them making breakfast which shocked me a lot.

I joined them for breakfast. We were very quiet that morning. I had no idea why. I still got the headache and after breakfast I went to rest on the sofa again. I fell asleep dreaming of her, in my dream I got the chance to say I love her. My dream shattered when Kelvin woke me up. I went for a bath; I lay on the bathtub reflecting about myself. Smoke filled up the bathroom in no seconds. This seemed to be a game I played with her. I decided to let the nature took its course. I changed into a white T-shirt with my black jacket. I had no idea how to handle a complicated or should I say contradiction heart. I wrote a note telling them I would be back at New York and telling them I was fine. I booked an air ticket through telephone. I took a cab to the airport. I reached airport in few minutes time. I checked in and sat on the plane’s seat quietly. I took out my book and read again. When someone asked me to excuse her to let be in the window seat. I just folded in my legs to let her walked in easily. I read my book so engrossly that the plane had flew and landed New York in1 hour time. I checked out of the plane. I took a cab back home.

My parents were at work, I just went in my room, threw everything on the hard floor and lie on my waterbed with fishes swimming inside. It gave me a pleasant sensation of walking on air. Within seconds, I went into my dreamland.

Summer Break- C6

CHAPTER 6

I was awakened promptly by the sound of seagulls. I woke up just in time to catch the sunrise. I woke Kate up. From freezing night, it turned to scorching day as the sun climbed towards its zenith. A gentle breeze came up to spin white drifts of seawater over the beach. More and more seagulls were hovering across the sky of mackerel clouds, crimson and amber-tinted. My mobile phone started to ring. I went to answer the phone and surprised to find out that it was from the disc jockey.

“Hey, Jacob the people like you and they wanted you back on this blind date stuff again. However this time you need not take the girl out. You just need to come to the studio and we will broadcast you live to see your date. See you then.” Disc jockey instructed.

“Who’s that?” Kate asked.

“The disc jockey wanted me to go on air again.” I replied.

“Then good for you.” Kate added.
I wore back my dry voluminous shirt. I drove the yacht back to the dock. I anchored the yacht properly in the dock. I drove Kate back to the chalet when her mobile phone rung too.

“Who’s on the line?” I asked.

“Nothing important.” Kate replied.
When we reached the chalet, we went for a bath and got changed. My friends were teasing me. They consoled Kate. The guys decided to go surfing today while the girls decided to go for sun bathing. I was dressed in a cool suit of Bermudas and a white plain T-shirt. The girls however were in their sexy Bikini suit. I preferred to surf with my water surfing-board. We took advantages of the high tide and gigantic waves to surf and I got to say the weather was fine, as it was windy. Girls were burying themselves in the sand leaving the head unburied of course.

“So where you go yesterday night?” Sarah asked.

“No where just in the yacht.” Kate replied.

“Did you?” Sarah teased.

“No, I didn’t but I saw his great naked body from the waist up. His body was smooth with lots of muscle.” Kate admitted.
I went back to the beach to take my shirt off. I did not want my shirt to be wet. The girls then fell into daze at my body.

“Kate you are right, he really got a great body.” Sarah exclaimed.

At noontime we went to a pizza place to have lunch. I treated all of them the buffet. After lunch the guys took the girls to the pub while I just went back to the chalet. I sat by the balcony to read a storybook. Kate came back to the chalet too. She sat on the sofa and read magazine. It was a blindingly hot day and humidity in air was stifling. Kate was still in a bikini suit. I realised that I kept looking at her at a distance. I decided to play a board game with Kate, as I can’t concentrate. Silly we played snake and ladder. At around 5p.m, she went for a bath. Kate got changed into a black dress that was so scrupulously cut; it fitted to her ever-spectacular curve and jut. She just went out after that. Even though she was just gone for a minute or so and I started to miss her already. I went for a swift bath. I got changed into a dark blue cotton shirt and a white silk blend trousers with a pair of solid shoes with thick soles. I drove to the studio. I was asked to sit on the chair. I was nervous. It was stills fifteen minutes before it was live broadcast. I started to wonder where Kate went. How I wished she was right by my side now. At 6p.m sharp, the show started.

“Jacob, glad to see you back. There will be three gorgeous ladies behind the screen to ask you questions. You may also ask them questions. You saw the alphabets on the screen, are a, b and c.” disc jockey explained.

“Jacob, what course do you study in school?” lady behind screen ‘A’ asked.

“I studied law.” I answered shortly.

“If there’s a girl you like now, will you have relationship with her?” lady behind screen ‘b’ asked.

“I will like her but I won’t start a relationship with her for some personal reason. I’m no gay for sure or neither was I impotent.” I answered.

“I had nothing to ask you because all these love questions can only be answered through your heart. Saying I love you isn’t the words I wanted to hear from you. I just wanted to know how you feel and what you are thinking. I already know how much you care for me. I just want you to hold me close right by your side and don’t ever let go. Is this is meant to be for, it will always because this is something only love can do. I’m amazed by you too.” Lady in screen ‘c’ surmised.

I was totally beaten by her words. It spoke right through about who I was. She read my heart and mined entirely. I was totally speechless.

“Which lady are you choosing?” Disc jockey asked.

“I’m not choosing as there was already someone in my heart. May I know who’s the lady behind screen ‘c’” I requested.

“I’m sorry I can’t help you as she had left and requested not to be named. She asked me to tell you to stop feeling sorry like the Chicago’s song.” Disc jockey replied.

I was totally shattered that she was gone and I was thinking she might be Kate. I went in search for Kate. She was not in the chalet and not on the beach. She was asking me to ‘open my heart’ to love her. I was in fear of losing her. I was devastated that I can’t find her. I went to the dock. She was there just now as the candles were still burning in a heart-shaped form. She was no where to be found. I trudged back to the chalet. My friends were there and asked me the whereabouts of Kate. I just kept silent. I just went out of the chalet and sat on the beach. Kate was so beautiful and when I was near her I can’t breathe. I kept my love inside. Time was running out, so damn my foolish pride. I told my heart that I didn’t want you but I lied. I just wanted to confess my love to you now. I just sat on the damp sand so lost of what to do. I really wished she would give me that chance to make it up for her.

Summer Break- C5

CHAPTER 5

Silence again broke off until we reached the dock.

“Here we are, I hope this will cheer you up.” I assured Kate.

“Hopefully,” Kate bellowed.

With that we paced our way to the yacht. I started to drive the yacht away from the dock but it was not that far. She went into the cabin and glanced through the CDs I had in the yacht. She chose to play the song, ‘Dreaming of you’ by Selena. I went to the cabin straight to the kitchen corner to cook dinner. I cooked the savoury spaghetti with tomatoes, mushrooms and mince beef balls. I ensure that the sauce that fit onto the spaghetti was palatable. I had no idea why I could cook the dinner in the flash of lightning. I brought the food to the table at the cabin. She was sitting on the couch with her right leg crossing over her left leg. Kate looked so dazzling with her ostentatious evening gown that looked like molten gold. Kate reminded me of the exquisite women Shakespeare described in Literature.

“May I have the honour to ask you to join me for dinner?” I asked gentlemanly.

Finally this made her smile a little. We just ate the dinner with lull. I cleared up everything as usual after dinner. Kate had gone up to the deck with the music turned on loud and clear. I went up the deck with a bottle of champagne, two glasses and a bowl of fruits. As I was pouring the drinks into the glasses, Kate came up to me and asked me to dance with her. I did so and stopped pouring the drinks. We were dancing with Kate’s head on my shoulder and my arms around her waist.

“Are you all right?” I asked with concern.

“Jacob, let’s just dance and not talked about it, please.” Kate insisted softly into my ears.
She really danced with all the way till she was tired and she went sitting on the deckchair. She drank quite a lot of the champagne till she was really walking unsteadily. I had to walk up to her and held her. This was not over when she fell into the sea when I was getting a towel for her. I jumped right into the sea in search for her.

“Kate where are you?” I shouted out for her.
Out of the blue, she popped out of the water right in front of me.

“Here, I’m over here. Water is real cooling after I had been under the scorching sun. Let’s swim for awhile.” Kate answered.

“You scared the hell out of me. You gonna pay for this.” I teased her with relieve as I tried to swept my wet ginger hair with my hands.
We started to behave like playful children and began to splash each other with water. We went up to the yacht when the night was getting colder. I got towels for Kate and me to dry us up. Luckily I already took off my cotton jacket. I only had my shirt and pants wet. Kate was not as lucky as I was as she got herself all wets with nothing dry to put on.

“Take my jacket,” I suggested as I handed my jacket to her.
She went into the cabin and got changed while I pulled my shirt over my head. I was naked from waist up. I continued to dry my hair with the towel. I had no idea Kate was behind me. Kate was hypnotised by sleek tapes of muscles in my back and my arms and smooth skin on nape of my neck. As I moved slightly, stirred from her daze catching scent of my body, light sweat and smell of soap. I tore her gaze by turning back and saw her.

“Thanks for the jacket.” Kate thanked me.
I just smiled back without a word. Kate then sat at the deckchair beside mine. We could hear the breeze-rippled sea hitting at the sides of the yacht and myriad softer sounds that stir in the night beside the music.

“Jacob, thanks for everything you had done for me.” Kate thanked me once again.

“What are friends for?” I replied.
In my heart, I knew I had lied that Kate and I was just friends but I felt that I not only wanted her to be just my friend. I wanted her to be more than that. It was more than just a crush and I thought I might have even fell in love with Kate. My stubbornness knew no bound and I still did not want to start a relationship with her with fear that I would hurt her again like what I did to others last time. We just sat there resting waiting for the sunrise. Kate fell asleep in no seconds. I would like to caress her but I can’t afford my rude hand to caress her blond, smooth, fine and pure hair. I was really in a confusion state where I had to make a choice to start or not start a relationship. I could say how much I love her now but I can’t risk the high possibility that I might break her heart.

From my bottom of my heart, I loved her too dearly that I got to retreat from planning to having a relationship with her. I wished to be with her but those stuffs just can’t get out of my mind. Kate really did take my breath away. I just sat there waiting for the sunrise without getting any forty winks. I wanted to be the man of her life. The only thing I could do was to stand by her side whenever she needed me. I would be there for her no matter what happened. Loving a girl was not just to say I love her but gave her your love. I began to know all those love stuffs. I began to cogitate about Kelvin’s words. I just can’t get any sleepier even though I tried to close my eyes. The dreamland seemed to shut the door away from me. Slowly I banged my way through the wonderland.

Just Goshy for a Mouse

Once again the IT Fair is here. Finally laid my eyes on the lappie I wanted to buy and bought it last Friday and collected on Saturday. The lappie is indeed up to my personal spec well was suppose to keep in control not to overspent but sadly I did it all over again. I bought the last lappie of the model I wanted currently. I guessed the fair must been a pretty great deal bargain today as today is the last day of the deal. Well it is so hard to control all these thingy at time. I have got my new passport yesterday, pretty cool. Finally get rid of the old kiddish photo I have had before in the old passport. Today I went to Ashley’s baptism. Pretty amazing and happy for her. She is literally dead and rise again. Well my bro woke up amazingly early and as usual I am late like no body business only applied during friends scenario. Trust me if you have had waited friends for more than an hour, you would know the reason why I am always late in the friends scenario cases. The bus ride yesterday I saw an old friend from my Primary School but sadly we did not say hi as she has taken off before I can even say hi. Wondering why lately I keep seeing old friends which I have not seen like donkey years, is awesome to see them. Some can hardly recognize me but I hardly even changed. It is just good to be catching up with them. Well almost time for me to get on bed and have my perfect hours of sleep which I really need. Working day to keep up and work on tomorrow. Good night...

Summer Break- C4

CHAPTER 4

I was awakened promptly by the warm beams of the morning sun filtered through the balcony to the living room. Smell of the regular American breakfast filled the air of the living room. I paced into the kitchen to find Kate was in there cooking. She was dressed in a little sheath so scrupulously cut, it fitted to her every spectacular curve and jut.

“Good morning, surprised to see that you the first among them to wake up. Come on, give me a hand.” Kate greeted me.

I helped her carried the food to the tables without hesitation. We knocked on the doors to wake them up. Kate and I started with the breakfast first. My mobile phone at this instance started to ring, I answered the call and found out call was from the disc jockey telling me to meet the girl I had no idea who. He later gave me the address of the girl. I keyed the girl’s particulars into my mobile phone.

“Who is so nice to give you a morning call?” Kate asked.

“The disc jockey asked me to meet my blind date today.” I answered her honestly.

“Oh I see, I got this stuff too today. I wondered who’s the guy. I got this stuff broadcast tonight on television.” Kate added.

We just continued with our breakfast when our pals woke up and sat at the dining table to eat breakfast with us. I knew why she was dressed so illustriously. I borrowed a yacht from Kelvin. I was clad in a loose cotton jacket over a voluminous shirt. With that I went out to check out who’s the girl. Kate was at the point of moment to go out too. We wished each other all the best. I drove to the mysterious blind date’s house. It was a well-built, characterless modern house. I walked up to the house and pressed on the doorbell. She was a tall, junoesque blonde wearing iridle short shorts cleanly outline the delta-shaped rise of her pudenda whose rough nipples poked perkily through a silk fishnet blouselet.

“Hi, I’m Jacob your blind date.” I greeted her.

“Hi I’m Rachael. So where are we going?” Rachael asked.

“You shall see later. Meanwhile let’s get in the car.” I instructed.
Rachael got into the car and I just drove silently to the dock. When we reached the dock, we got out from the car to the yacht.

“So we are going to the sea, I’m supposed.” Rachael finally spoke.
I just gave her a smile as I drove the yacht. I steered the wheel till I reached the central of the sea. I anchored the yacht there. I turned on the music to fill the yacht with some ‘life’. Rachael sat on the deckchair. I sat on the one next to her.

“So you enjoy this blind date stuff?” I asked.

“Not really, I actually did this to spite my boyfriend. I had no idea why can’t guys take the initiative to have sex.” Rachael exclaimed.

“Well, I think you move on too fast. If you have sex with someone you love, it’s not just the physical contact you want. It’s the feeling of your love and the someone’s love you want. Give him a bit more time.” I advised her.

“I feel so good talking to you. Seem like you are not interested in this game too. Nice knowing you as friend. Thanks.” Rachael thanked me.
Kate meanwhile met her blind date.

“Hi, I’m Don.” He introduced.

“Oh hi, I’m Kate.” Kate introduced back.
Don took her to a posh restaurant. They had a sumptuous meal there. Don drove her to a quiet corner and started kissing her. The kissing was all right until Don’s hand went into Kate’s dress. Kate pushed him away and got out of the car and went to the cast centre herself. I was driving Rachael there.

“So now you had no girl in your mind.” Rachael asked.

“There’s is this girl I liked but I won’t proceed further on to extend as I don’t find a need in doing that. I’m not a great guy as you think. Shall we drop the subject?” I answered.
We reached there in few minutes time. Don was the first to reach there before Kate and we were the lasts to reach there. I was sitting beside Don. I could smell his wet shirt with sweat. No offence but it just stinks.

“So how’s your day today people? Jacob why don’t you start telling us about it.” Disc jockey started.

“It’s pretty cool as I got to know a friend. There’s nothing going on more than friends.” I answered.

“My day is great too but my physical need is not satisfied. Kate was not the girl for me.” Don rebuked.
At that point of moment, I felt like giving Don the taste of my fist on his face but he didn’t worth that much. I could feel the disappointment in Kate.

“It’s totally a pleasure to know Jacob. He’s all that with all the girls’ need. It’s a pity that I have a boyfriend. If not I would take him.” Rachael answered.

“I can’t believe that I can meet up with this desperado jerk in this game. Don don’t be too confidence in yourself that you can get the type of girl that can satisfied your physical need. I definitely have a bad day today.” Kate rebuked.

“So there’s no successful date today. Don you are definitely outs of this game. Jacob you impressed us a lot. Your friends have gave us information that you had talent in music wise especially the piano. Why not play us a song? Kate I’m sorry for your date to turn out this way.” Disc jockey demanded.
I can’t believe they spilled the beans out of the bag. I went to the other side and sat by the piano.

“I dedicate this song to my good friend, Kate.” I announced before I started to play the piano. As I played the piano, I started to sing.

“2a.m and the rain is falling, here we are at the cross road once again, you telling me you’re so confused, you can’t make up your mind, is this meant to be, you’re asking me.
But only love can say, try again or walk away, but I believe for you and me the sun will shine one day, so I’ll just play my part, pray that you will have a change of your heart but I can’t make you see it through. That’s something only love can do.” I continued to sing with a note of self-satisfaction and play the piano melodically at the same time. I knew that love was on the wing, we had dreamed and this was the song to sing. I thanked them later for listening. The disc jockey asked me to play a final song using a guitar. Disc jockey also asked two more persons to play the piano and the drum. I chose to play the song, ‘Amazed’, as that’s what I’m feeling right now. I didn’t change the position I was sitting and the direction I was looking at. I was gazing into Kate’s inquisitive eyes all this time. After the show Kate and I left the cast centre today as I said farewell to Rachael.

“Cheer up, Kate. Let’s me bring you to a place.” I persuaded Kate.

“I’m fine, you are really good at music. Thanks for dedicating the song to me.” Kate finally spoke.

I drove Kate to the dock again. Kate was extremely reticence throughout the journey.

“Why don’t you sing the song, ‘amazed’ to me again?” Kate requested.
That was the least I could do. I sang the song hollowly without any music but I still got the rhyme there.

“Are you feeling the way like the lyrics of the song?” Kate asked.
I hesitated a long time before I could answer her honestly with a yes.

Can't Sketch but can do water color

Water color art itself is an art as the water flow naturally compared to sketching. I am simply guilty of it.

Summer Break- C3

CHAPTER 3

The sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. I was awakened promptly. We took our breakfast in the restaurant. We had pasta, omelette eggs, sausages, mashed potatoes and glasses of orange juice. We were eating as well as cracking jokes. Our laughter could be heard at the end of the hall, as our jokes were so jocular. After breakfast, we went to pack our bags and I went to check out of the hotel. We drove our cars respectively. I sat at the back seat trying to call back home with my mobile phone. We were driving side by side. Kate sent message to my mobile phone greeting me good morning. I sent her back message greeting her too with some fetching cartoon characters pictures.

I had booked a chalet in the beach. This summer was indeed very special. It was obviously a good opportunity for Jerry. He was a lecher. However most important thing was at least I got to know a close pal. I had a sense of satisfaction. Summer sun was still hours from setting at fifty-five degrees latitude. We were still very much anticipating the fun time we were going to have. I had this intuition that there was going to have sensation in the beach. I knew for sure I was going to be just myself rather than to act to be like someone. I awaiting for the beautiful beach that encircled the island. I loved the smell of the salted sea and the laughter coming from the crowd. Most awesome thing was that you could sometime see the flock of seagulls flying across the clear blue sky. The more I thought of it the more eager I was.

“Kate drives carefully, and stops looking at Jacob.” Sarah teased Kate.

“I love this summer break as I got to know some winsome girls. I just love the lip of Sarah.” Jerry confessed.

“Just drive, Jerry.” I bellowed.

Ultimately we reached the chalet house; we parked the cars just outside the chalet. I opened the chalet door with the golden shiny bunch of keys. There were a total of three bedrooms, one kitchen and a balcony. The girls took one of the rooms and the guys shared the two rooms. I decided to sleep in the living room as it had a balcony. Luckily there was a deckchair at the balcony. I put the food and drinks in the refrigerator.

“Let’s go out for ball games.” Kelvin announced.

I was the last to go, as I had to lock the door. We were separated into teams so as we could play volleyball. Not far from the chalet, there was a huge stage with the eminent disc jockeys that played the music loud. There was this game going on looking for hunks and babes to join in the blind dates. I found this game ludicrous as I found no point playing this game. The disc jockeys were coming offstage to hunt for the people they wanted. I just carried on with our volleyball game.

I had no idea out of the blue there was this popular female disc jockey that tapped on my shoulder to invite me to join in this blind dates contest. I refused the offer but was persuaded by my friends. I had no choice but to agree with it. Even though the disc jockeys told me that they would foot the bill of 500bucks and below. All these stuffs didn’t take my attention. Most coincidence thing was Kate was chosen too for this foolish game. I gave the disc jockeys my mobile phone number so that they could contact me. I can’t believe it. There was so many people out there and why the hack I was being chosen. They were teasing me the whole afternoon. Girls always had the benefit not to be teased. These blind dates stuff is definitely driving me crazy. I wondered if Kate enjoyed it. I wished the blind date was her so I won’t be that shy. This was a live broadcast. I got to admit I was real anxious and nervous. We went back to the chalet to prepare dinner and also prepared to watch the beautiful sunset. I sat on the deckchair by the balcony to see that as sun set, few thin strips of clouds on horizon turned shimmering gold. I went into the kitchen to cook the dinner, as I was good at this. Obviously they were waiting for my mouth-watering food cooked by me. I could hear the rumbling sound coming from their stomachs from the kitchen. This was a signal for me cooked expeditiously. The living room was concentrated with the music from the radio broadcast.

“Need any help?” Kate asked with her seductive voice.

“Since someone has offered her help, here are the celery. Help me to cut it. Thanks.” I teased Kate.
Kate took the celery and cut them so gently and mindfully. I was cooking the steaks. The marvellous smell from the steaks diffused swiftly into the living room.

“Smell good and it’s making me hungrier.” Kate exclaimed.

“Just hang on, dinner is coming up soon.” I assured Kate.
I gave her my words and the dinner was ready. I put the food on the table in the living room. The food was finger licking. This was the first time we ate so delicately luxuriating in our meal. After dinner I had to clear the table. My friends just took their girls to some corner out the chalet to whisper sweet nothings into each other ears leaving Kate and me in the chalet. She was sitting so femininely on the sofa dedicated to the music. I just stood on the entrance of the kitchen observing her.

She looked so sweet and irresistible. She was going to her wonderland slowly. I walked up to her to put my blue cotton jacket over her. I went on to the sit on the deckchair by the balcony. I could feel the sea breeze felt fine against my hot body. The moon was abnormally large and it bathed the earth with its luminous glow. Th night scenery of the beach was breath taking. In the night, you could hear the sound of the wave crawling up and down on the refined and mild sand. This was again a dazzling night with myriad of glittering stars scattered across the endless sky. I closed my eyes and wish upon the brightest star in hope that everyone on earth would be happy forever.

“So are you prepared for the blind dates?” Kate woke up and asked me.

“There’s nothing for me to prepare.” I answered.

“Shall we go to the nearest pub.” I suggested.Kate just nodded her head in agreement. We stride to the pub.

We didn’t go there for drinks but went there for the billiard games. Kate was the beginner. I taught her how to hold the billiard pole in a right way. I was just behind holding to her hands to teach her how to play the game. Time slipped past fast. After the game, we trudged back to the chalet. There was this sudden bone-chilling rainstorm mixed with sleet, rain came down hard, driven sideways at times by fierce gusts of Arctic wind. We ran back to our chalet and our friends were already back. I could hear the sound of them sleeping. I took two towels. One for me and one for Kate to dry ourselves. After drying ourselves, Kate went into the room and I just lie on the sofa waiting for the time I would be in my dreamland.

Summer Break- C2

CHAPTER 2
We went to the restaurant together and saw our friends were already making over in there.

“Shall we grab a bite elsewhere?” I suggested.

“Sure.” Kate agreed.

I ordered some sandwiches and a bottle of Champaign. I took Kate to the swimming pool out the hotel. We sat on the deckchair and ate our food. There were myriad of stars in the sky. I was thinking the words she had said about guy that knew how to play musical instruments. I didn’t tell her that I actually know how to play piano. We just sat there looking at the stars. I got this feeling of falling in love with her but I didn’t want to admit it. Kate was delighted to have spent this splendid night with me. It was a still and magnificent night indeed.

“Is it possible that someone else in other part of the world is doing the same thing like what we are doing at this very same moment.” Kate hinted.

“Could be. It is the most perfect moment I ever had.” I mentioned.

“Do you miss them? Have you ever think of making up with them? You are not as bad as you think yourself is.” Kate asked.

“I supposed you are talking about my ex- girlfriends. Well, I don’t think I want to patch things up with them. I don’t want to hurt them one more time. I have to admit that I miss them. You know the song, ‘Hard to say I’m sorry’ by Chicago. The song suits me but I just want to be friends with them only at this point of time. How about you?” I responded.

“No way, how can I ever be with someone who don’t ever love. I’m sure you know the songs, ‘Only love’ by trademark and ‘Dreaming of you’ by Selena. These two songs suit me the most. Well let’s go back to our room, it’s getting colder. This time remember no elevator. This time we will walk up by the flight of staircase.” Kate hinted.

“Sure,” I gave her an unexpected charming smile.
We strolled back to our room. I can’t believe that my pals and Kate’s pals were still making out in the room instead. I tried to pull my pals away but it seemed like the attractive force was stronger than my pulling force.

“Let’s go Kate.” I held onto Kate’s soft and smooth hand and took her out of the room.

“Where are we going?” Kate asked promptly.

“The casino, I supposed.” I answered.
I didn’t realise that I was holding on to her hand until I wanted to change some money to tokens so as to play in the casino.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t noticed that I was holding your hand.” I apologised.

“It’s ok.” Kate stated.

We went to the jackpot and played. The luck was not with me. We changed game in guessing the number and colour in the turning wheel. In this game we seemed to have quite a lot of luck. I can’t believe that other players there thought we were couples but we were not. At around 10p.m, we went to the dancing floors to dance. The dance hall was saturated with music. First the music was quite pop and rock. We had an enjoyable time dancing. Out of the blue, it turned to ballad songs that both of us liked a lot. I was very flabbergasted by it. Kate put her arms around me and I put mine around her waist. We danced elegantly and we were totally engrossed in the music. We totally didn’t notice that time passed by so fast in the dash clock. It was almost midnight. We paced back to our room and thank god our pals finally stopped kissing and were watching television programmes now.

“Where have you two been?” they chorused.

“Finally stopped kissing, we were trapped in the elevator and we went to the casino and end of story.” I answered sarcastically.

“We had better take some rest now as we are going to Malibu tomorrow.” Kate suggested.
I went to take a bath. I came out of the bathroom with only towel around my waist as I left my top naked. Everyone was sleeping so soundly and amiably. I went into the living room and switched on the hi-fi and listened to the music.

“How’s your day, Kate?” Sarah asked.

“Fine and nice. I think I’m in love with him.” Kate hinted.

“So did you two get serious?” Sarah teased Kate.

“No, we are just friends.” Kate stated.

“I can’t believe it. You two were out so long yet you two didn’t even kiss.” Sarah exclaimed.

“I enjoyed everything and time he spent with me but I still liked the dance most.” Kate mentioned.

“Oh so you two still did the hugging stuff.” Sarah teased.

“Go ahead and laughed at me.” Kate threw the pillow onto Sarah.

“Jacob, why are you still up? By the way, how’s your day?” Kelvin asked.

“Pretty genial, just friends. Don’t think wrongly.” I answered.

“You don’t like her?” Kelvin asked.

“It’s not that. I just don’ want to go so fast like a rocket. You know? I like her but I just don’t feel this is the right moment to have her.” I responded.

“I know what you are doing. Just don’t make the same mistake you did last time and get so remorseful. Get some rest. Good night.” Kelvin advised me.I went into my wonderland as I listened to the musi
